The Boston College Eagles got back on the winning track with a 71-67 win over the North Carolina Tar Heels.
For the Eagles, beating North Carolina didn’t mean nearly as much as usual given their struggles this year.
The Eagles have had their share of struggles as well, but are hopeful that improved play of late might serve them well in the ACC tournament.
Reggie Jackson made his first start at point guard this season and certainly didn’t disappoint, finishing with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists.
Jackson said the team spent the entire week focusing on ways to slow down North Carolina’s fastbreak.

The Boston College Eagles put up a strong fight against the No. 7 Duke Blue Devils but came up short in a 66-63 loss.
It’s been a tough year for the Eagles, but they showed some of the ability of the team by pushing Duke to the limit.
The loss does look slightly closer than it really was, as Boston College rallied back in the final minute to make it look like a very tight ballgame.
When it came down to it, Boston College simply could not contain the guard duo of Jon Scheyer and Nolan Smith, who each scored 21 points.
Boston College had pretty balanced scoring across the board with four players finishing in double digits. Corey Raji led the Eagles with 15 points.
